How long does it take for a design to be completed?

This is a difficult question to answer in a general sense. Each website has different requirements and features and therefore projects are reviewed on an individual basis. After the initial consultation we can better determine the length of time needed.

Do I need to buy a domain name and hosting?

Domain Name (URL) Registration -- This is the address people will use to access your Web site (www.yourcompany.com). Once you have determined that the URL you wish to use is available, the cost to register a name is anywhere from $25.00 to $35.00 per year. A domain name needs to be renewed every year. Registering your name for several years is also cost efficient. Choose a name that is memorable and short. Avoid using words that are easily misspelled.

Hosting Your Web Site on a Web Server -- This is basically where you rent space on a computer that is always connected to the Internet. Price will vary, depending on the amount of disk space you will have and the connection to the Internet. We can advise you or even register your domain name and host it for you.

Will we need to have a meeting in connection with the website design?

In the majority of cases a meeting isn't necessary and most of our websites are generally completed with contact via email and telephone only. We place suggested website designs onto the Internet in a private place where only yourselves and us can view the content. We then liaise with you regularly to discuss the web designs in order that the website design and functionality is exactly as you wish.

Does my business need to be computer-based in order to have a website? Do I need to know about computers?

NO, you do not need to own a computer or have computers involved in your business in order to have a website. Many companies do filing, invoicing and more without a computer. Creating a website is more about exposing your business to new potential clients and generating new sales. There is no need to overhaul the way your company does business.

How do I keep my website up to date

You can either do this yourself or have TopOrange Web Design maintain your website for you. If your website will be changing and evolving on a regular basis, we have a monthly maintenance package or if you have only a few changes periodically we hourly rate.
